Used with pre 1998 CG10DE, also the box from the K10.
No oil fill plug on front of box, use hole for speedo cable, i.e. remove the speedo cable assembly. Cable pulls out no trouble after a spanner undoes the “sleeve”. The “housing” then easily releases with a socket on the one small six-sided bolt ( it also has a phillips-type screw head on it ) - the housing then can be eased up and away. There is then a fairly sizeable and accessible aperture so you can fill the measured amount using a small bottle.
Capacity 3.1 - 3.3L litres of oil.

Viscous limited slip diff, rare factory option in Japanese & European markets. Also used with E15ET, CA & GA16DE motors. It was also found bolted to some MA09ERT's bolted to EK10 March's. The GA16DE has the same bell housing bolt pattern as CG, so can be fitted into K11. 31 series gearboxes retain all the mounting bolt holes for the 30 series gearbox mounts.
The RS5F31A gearbox bell housing can be fitted to a 31V box, so long as the diff bearing area is machined to take the larger bearings of the 31V diff.
The 31V LHS inner CV shaft is longer than the 31A shaft in order to engage the viscous coupling in the diff.
